A Slow, Sweet Evening in Seaside with Gracie & Joseph

There is just something about Seaside in the evening. The pastel cottages, the salty breeze drifting in from the Gulf, the hum of bikes rolling through town square — it all feels like a movie set designed for slow, meaningful moments. And that is exactly what Gracie & Joseph’s engagement session felt like.
We started the afternoon at It’s Heavenly! right in Seaside Square, coffee in hand and no real agenda other than to simply enjoy being together. I always tell my couples that engagement sessions are less about posing and more about presence. Sitting across from each other, laughing over iced coffees, talking about wedding plans it gives me space to watch how they naturally interact.
The way Joseph looks at Gracie when she’s mid-sentence. The way she leans in when she laughs. Those are the moments I carry with me into the wedding day.
After coffee, we wandered through the square and down the winding paths toward the water. Seaside in the summer light is soft and glowy, and as the sun began to dip lower, everything turned golden.

No rushing. No strict timeline. Just the three of us strolling toward the beach.
We ended the evening dancing into the sunset along the shoreline. Bare feet in the sand, wind in Gracie’s hair, Joseph pulling her close as the sky turned shades of blush and lavender. It felt exactly like them steady, joyful, completely at ease. These slow, unhurried moments are always my favorite because they reflect the foundation of a marriage: friendship, comfort, and choosing each other again and again.
And the best part? This is just the beginning.
I cannot wait to see them again this summer when they say “I do” in Troy. If their wedding day feels anything like this Seaside evening, intentional, calm, and full of quiet joy — it is going to be absolutely beautiful.
Gracie & Joseph, thank you for letting me step into your story in such a meaningful place. Summer in Troy cannot come soon enough. 🤍
